Frequently Asked Questions, because it’s
important you know!
General:
No. Many people who train in RSM have no or minimal training or experience in any healing modality. What you need most is a desire to learn and a desire to help others heal.
No. Many people who train in RSM do not have college or university degrees when they enter the training program, although some do choose to earn a degree later. What will serve you well are your life experiences and your desire to learn and serve.
Three (3) years. Some trainees take longer to satisfy requirements for certification. We continue to support you until you are certified!
Yes. You will travel to Philadelphia twice a year for onsite training. We’ll start in the evening, and then meet for 6 more days.
You pay for food, travel and lodging during the onsite trainings.
You are required to make up all missed work, trainings and assignments. Your advisor will guide you in how to make up any missed work. Be advised there may be an additional fee if faculty has to spend extra time to help you make up missed work.
Certification:
Certification requirements are included in the Training Program Agreement trainees sign, and are clearly listed. Click here for the Certification Requirements page
The training program is 3-years long. Some trainees take longer to complete certification requirements. We continue to provide you with support until you certify.
The International Association of Rubenfeld Synergists (INARS), our professional organization, sets the criteria and evaluates if a trainee is qualified to be a Certified Rubenfeld Synergist. Evaluation criteria are given to trainees early in their training so they know which skills will be evaluated.
Yes. INARS determines and tracks the requirements to maintain certification. Currently, the requirements are comprised of earning CEU’s, 50% of which must be hands-on and directly related to RSM, and continued mentoring sessions after certification.
Personal Sessions:
Trainees are required to receive a minimum of 12 personal RSM sessions per year of training, for a total of 36.
Receiving your own personal sessions are essential for several reasons: 1) You get to experience what it’s like to be a client on the table; 2) You will be able to resolve and heal your own wounds and traumas; 3) You’ll be able to process issues that arise for you during the training (and don’t we all have “school” issues?); and 4) You’ll be able to work on any fear and doubt that might keep you from having a thriving practice.
You will receive two (2) personal Synergy sessions during each of the onsite trainings. If you don’t have a “home” Synergist, you will receive all 12 sessions during the two (2) onsite trainings held each year. You may be required to be available on the day before the training begins to complete this requirement.
The fee is reduced to $70 USD per session for sessions you receive at the onsite trainings. We will ask your home Synergist to honor the reduced fee of $70 for at least 8 sessions per year of training, but cannot guarantee they will honor that request.
No, they are not. To see what’s included and not included in the tuition, Click here for the Tuition page.
